Dear Tonka,
Who is this little fury creature that has just taken over my life? NO MORE DOGS! Yes, that is what we decided. Chrissy and the chickens were plenty to take care of. What were we thinking? However, there you were about the cutest puppy I had ever seen!
I have never had something so small. You looked at me with such wonder and cuddle so close. I love the way your head turns in curiosity at the sound of my voice. Your little bark is amazing, trying to get my attention and me playing detective, trying to figure out exactly what you want.
The first vet visit was rough on me…Watching them give you those shots was so hard on me…. You barely whimpered. You scooted across the metal table to hide within my arms. It was official, I was you mama.
You are so smart too… At eight weeks, you go to your bed when you are tired. You sit and beg right next to Chrissy to get a treat. You go to the door and scratch to go out…How you learned those things so quickly is amazing. I think you are the smartest dog that ever lived. Am I partial? Of course I am!
Writing has not been easy. You continue to pull on my pant leg and bite my toes. The only thing I can do is hold you close. It works for awhile.
You think you can fly my little black furry one…You cannot fly! You cry like a baby when you land tumbling on the floor. I run to you, heart beating fast to comfort you. Please do not do that again. My heart cannot take it.
I am sorry for the times I have stepped on you. I did not see you. You are always under my feet and I am not used to that. I am learning. You are training me to be more careful. Now you walk beside me and watch out for my big feet.
Do not let someone else step on you or let you leap from a chair…this mama has fire in her eyes searching for the one who hurt my little fury baby…Come to mama!
I have bought you a cute sweater. I think you will have many in the future. I have already thought about other cute outfits for you. Even though you are a little boy dog…I do not care! I have made the leap to own one of these little ‘foo... foo....’ dogs and now I must carry out the tradition of making you look oh so handsome.
Naming you was not so easy…But Tonka it is and Tonka it shall me…
You are my Tonka donk...tonker…tonka bunka…tonka tu…tonka wonka, and lastly tonka poo …if I will just settle on “Tonka” surly you will come when your name is called. Sorry…I am working on this! Geeeez…Humans are peculiar, are we not? Just stick with the name…stick with the name I hear you say...

I have a mini zoo. I have a cockatiel names Zoey, a 40 pound chow mix Stephanie (SPCA rescue) and my cat Misty (street rescue.) None of them get up before noon except the cat who thinks her stomace is a bottomless pit when I start moving around in the morning. She wants her breakfast immediately, then goes back to bed.

I am dying to get a dog, but I don't want to be tied to this country and if you take your dog overseas from here you can't bring them back without 6 months quarantine. UK rabies laws.

He is a full blood pomaranian..His dad was a merle..which is grey and white, and has blue eyes..He has a tint of blue eyes..but not sure if they will stay..

Dear Martie, I truly understand that feeling..it is the worst kind of pain losing a pet..Everytime I swear never again but then I do..and one day will have to go through the pain again of loss..I may oneday feel that way too... Who couldn't fall in love with that little face?
How can anybody not fall in love with such a cute little puppy? I avoid all places and corners where my eyes accidentally may fall on a puppy or a kitten... since the death of the last pet I had. Loving them with all my heart, and then they die on me... I never want to feel that pain again. But now I have my grandchildren...
I am just trying to make life a little bit easier for myself... sparing myself some pain..
On the other hand, Sunnie, I know what I am missing - the joy that makes one shine like you.
Tanka is a cutie.
He is adorable. I am not sure about the outfits though. A raincoat maybe, for when it rains. And snow boots and a coat for when it snows. And of course a couple of pretty, bright sweaters for chilly weather but seriously Sunnie. My dogs name is Rufus, or oofus, Doofus, Goofus, boofus, and a few more that are even more embarrassing. Don't we just get so silly.
